Sugarland + My Weekend

I spent the weekend at my parent's house in Bradley. My mother gave my sisters and I tickets to see Sugarland for our birthdays so we spent Friday night at the fair... so.much.fun!! I love this band; they rock my world. Jennifer Nettles is so cute and Kristian Bush so rad. We danced, we sang, we drank margaritas out of tall blinking glasses. Awesome.

Saturday I stepped on a bee while trying to put little Rydin to sleep. Ouch. My foot is still a bit swollen.

Poor Diego... the hopeless endeavor of trying to maintain privacy from the little kids (and big adults). He is so good with his little cousins, though. He calls Rydin, "hey bub". Sweet.

Sunday was Ella's 3rd birthday. She is the sweetest little girl... and was probably the most excited over a bag full of water guns (second, of course, to her new little John Deere jeep that she can ride all over the ranch). A wonderful weekend home :)

Listening to: Maroon 5

Won't Go Home Without You

Maroon 5 Myspace Video

I have been really into Maroon 5 lately... I love this song and video... maybe because it features Alex from LOST... not sure. Either way, I dig it.

Matt and Claire

My sweetheart compiled the 600 or so photos that we took at our friends' wedding last year into a beautiful animated video. I cried the first time I watched it.

The Velvet Teen

‎'cos if we die tonight, i do not care
there will be no need to be scared
yeah, if we do not make it, i don't mind
all i want is to sleep by your side
too many people live imprisoned
stuck somewhere between the is and isn't
the night will pass and we'll no longer think on
what it was or what it wasn't

Chorus from {"Noi Boi" by The Velvet Teen}

This last weekend we went to see one of our favorite bands play at the Bottom of the Hill, The Velvet Teen. They are a local band from the Northern Bay Area, but are at the top of my list of extremely talented artist. We have seen them a number of times, but it has been years since I last saw The Velvet Teen perform live... Friday's show was both mind-blowing and a strange time warp back to my college days... if you get the chance to see them play, DO IT! There is something about seeing these musicians perform live that just takes it to 11. Check out other album versions of their songs:
